4th ERA-MIN3 POTASSIAL PROJECT CONSORTIUM WORKSHOP
The 4th Consortium workshop of the project titled “Zero Waste Valorization of Feldspathic Ores: Green Application and Sustainable Sourcing of Strategic Raw Materials (POTASSIAL)”, which is ongoing under the coordination of Malatya İnönü University within the scope of the ERA-MIN3 European Union project, was organized. Within the scope of the workshop, technical presentations were made by the consortium partners (from abroad; Slovak Academy of Sciences-Institute of Geotechnics (Slovakia), Luleå Technical University-Department of Civil, Environmental and Natural Resources Engineering from Sweden, and ElementSix Inc. from the UK. The coordinating organization is İnönü University Mining Engineering Department, together with the domestic partners: Fırat University Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department, Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Mining Engineering Department and Eti Alüminyum A.Ş.) hosted by İnönü University.

The opening of the project workshop prepared for the development of industrial quality high value-added materials from natural potassium aluminum silicate ores was attended by Inonu University Vice President Prof. Dr. Abdulkadir Baharçiçek, Inonu University Faculty of Engineering Dean Prof. Dr. Mehmet Burhan Karakoç, TUBITAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, researchers and academic and administrative staff who are domestic and international partners of the project. The workshop was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa BOYRAZLI, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Deniz TURAN from the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and project scholarship holders Res. Asst. Emrah ÇELİK, PhD student Hasan NİZAMOĞLU, graduate students Mustafa SÜNER and Tuğrulhan DEMİR representing our university, which is one of the project partners.
After the technical presentations made within the scope of the workshop; A cultural tour program was organized in Malatya and Elazığ provinces. Within the scope of Elazığ Cultural Tour, a tour program was organized for our local and foreign participants in Harput, one of our historical cities, and then a tour of Lake Hazar was held at Fırat University's Lake Hazar Facilities.
